ISP Speed

ISP Speed

Question:

Is there a recommended upload and download speed that is optimal for teleworking via Palo Alto's Global Protect VPN solution?

Answer:

A download and upload speed of 10Mb/s will provide an optimal experience while connecting via the Global Protect VPN solution. Any ISP speed higher than 10Mb/s (upload and download) will suffice, but is NOT required.

Users will have a more pleasant connection experience if they install a hardline solution for internet service. Users are less likely to experience issues with latency when using hardline solutions (Ex: Fiber optic, cable).

Wireless internet solutions such as satellite or cellular are not recommended for VPN usage. Wireless internet solutions are more likely to cause severe issues with latency, especially at times of peak VPN usage, or while download/uploading large files.
