Cannot Sign Into Microsoft Teams - Error code -caa5004b

Problem

Teams repeatedly refuses user sign in. 
Teams suggested solution does not resolve. 
 

Solution

  1. Make sure you don't have the machine wide installer installed. If you do, contact SURVICE IT to uninstall.
    1. NO restart required.
  2. Open your teams desktop shortcut properties.
    1. Right mouse click on the desktop shortcut.
    2. Select Properties
  3. Select the Compatibility tab.
  4. Select the checkbox Run this program in compatibility mode for:.
  5. Leave it at Windows 8.
  6. Select the button, Run compatibility troubleshooter.
  7. Unless an error is being reported, close it immediately.
  8. Select Apply.
  9. Select OK.
  10. Try launching your Teams application.
