Access SharePoint Word Document Properties

Access SharePoint Word Document Properties

Problem

  1. Trying to edit document properties using File>Info is not working as expected.
  2. Cannot assign Next Reviewer and save document using File>Info.
The root may be due to an ongoing migration of services and resources that is actively going on.

Solution

There is a better way.
  1. Once you have the document open in your Word desktop application, select the View tab located in the ribbon menu at the top of the application.

  2. Choose Properties in the SharePoint group in the ribbon menu at the top of the application.

  3. Document Properties can be set in the resulting frame to the right of the document.
